Two developments concerning sites which are slightly beyond the boundaries of our conservation area but of great interest to our members.
First, a formal notice has now been issued in respect of an appeal by Essential Living against Camden's refusal to agree to EL's proposed changes to the 100 Avenue Road development. Members will recall that Essential Living is proposing to remove the requirement for the provision of 28 Affordable Rent Units, 8 Intermediate Housing Units and 18 Discounted Market Rent Units, to be replaced by 18 Discounted Market Rent Units. The appeal will now be decided by a government-appointed Planning Inspector. Secondly, Camden has now given final approval to various amendments to the development of the Travis Perkins site on West End Lane. Demolition work has already commenced on site. Worth noting that the 'Affordable Rent' tenants will enjoy all the delights of the traffic-clogged West End Lane, whereas the 'Private Sale' tenants will only have the constant din of the Thameslink trains to disturb them.
